September 2009

We took a gondola ride up the mountain at
Sundance, and then hiked to Stewart Falls - it
was a really fun date, and very beautiful there!

We went to the cabin for Labor Day - the kids
love sleeping out in a tent when we go.

Zachary loves the slingshot.
Megan and I went on a hike and
collected flowers and fall leaves.
Megan pressed some of them.
Joshua is a great shot with the bb gun.

Then the kids enjoyed the bouncy toys at
Park City.

Zachary started Preschool at BYU -
he loves it and has the same teacher
that Joshua and Megan had - she
remembers us and loves Zachary!

Our "Pop-Pop" rode his bike all the way from
Washington D.C. to Salt Lake City. We met him
at "This is the Place" monument when he finished.
Way to go!!

Three generations went on a manly adventure
together hiking up Mt. Timpanogos and camping -
this was Joshua's first time - he was excited! It
was only a couple days after "Pop-Pop's" bike
ride - a little too soon, as he discovered when
spraining his ankle (at least on the way down).

Camping by Emerald Lake after being stormed on.

They made it to the top!

Family picnic and campfire in Provo Canyon

Joshua and I have gone on a few bike rides together
along the Provo River trail and even around Bass
Lake this summer - Joshua is trying to earn a
biking merit badge.

We went on a family bike ride with "Pop-Pop"
and took a stop at a fun swing beside the trail.

Fun sack races at our Ward Social - Megan
won for her age group!

We had fun going up the gondola in Park City
and going down the Alpine slides - the Fall
colors were beautiful!

August 2009

Aug 1 -Megan went to Lagoon for her birthday
- no adults allowed! She had a new cell phone
(birthday present) with her to keep in touch.
Megan, Joshua and friends had a blast!

Aug 2 - Megan's birthday party with family

Aug 3 - Megan's birthday party with school friends -
how many parties can she have?? Spoiled!!
They had fun water activities and a pinata.
Here's Joshua heading off on his first
weeklong Scout Camp!

Zachary with a friend at the mall

Eddie driving the houseboat at Lake Powell -
he did an amazing job!

Our houseboat on a great beach

On a hike to the arch we never found - Larry
found it later up the next canyon. . .

They made it to the Indian ruins!

Eddie lounging on his special chair

Zachary couldn't get enough of swimming!

Zachary loves his newest cousin!

Fun boat ride with cousins
Pretty girls collecting shells

Joshua loves all watersports!

The kids loved being double towed!

Joshua started some jumping action on the wakeboard!
Eddie on the wakeboard

Eddie on a single ski

Jumping off the rock across from our houseboat -
it had different heights for everyone to enjoy!
We had one campfire with s'mores, singing, and
telling stories.

Family pose - can you tell who hasn't gotten
much sun this summer?
Group pose at the end of the week - we made it
through a hike to nowhere, a couple of storms with
ropes getting caught in propellers, the houseboat
being blown into the rocks and then us pushing
and pulling it away from the rocks for an hour, and
then replacing a propeller again that didn't work when
we tried to leave - it was put on backwards, etc! We
sure had fun, though!
We went to the Thanksgiving Point Gardens
with some cousins - beautiful waterfalls!

First day of school

We celebrated Eddie's birthday by going to
the Homestead Resort in Midway - just the
two of us - Eddie said he needed that vacation
after all the work our other vacations were!
(Thank you, neighbors, for babysitting!)

On our patio at the resort
We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools and
hot tubs - the mineral water was great!

The kids voted to have Eddie's birthday dinner
at Pirate Island (pizza restaurant).

Eddie's birthday at home - how many parties
does he get?
Eddie got the Young Scholar award at BYU

Zachary's first dentist visit - no cavities!
(Much better than Joshua's and Megan's teeth were!)

Another stay at the cabin

Then off to the Kite Fest in Spanish Fork
with some cousins
Joshua loved the zip line there!

Megan, too!
The beautiful Spanish Fork Reservoir where
kites were flown around from jet skis - and
two beautiful cousins dipping their feet - it
was so hot that we didn't last long at the Fest!
(Too bad they didn't allow swimming that day!)
